Environment Day 2017 celebrated on 5th June

In a bid to generate awareness on the significance of protecting the environment and encourage environment protection initiatives springing from the general public, Sudha Society in association with RUDSET Institute, RWA south city 2 and Art of Living, Gurugram celebrated this Environment Day by honoring those residents of South City-2 and students of Sudha Open School who are doing their bit to save the environment.
The awardees of the occasion were:
- Senior Citizen Association of South City-2, who greened one acre of barren land opposite B block south city 2 Gurugram. Standing as a testimony of the association’s hard work and gaiety, the land is now used by residents.
- Mr. Vikram Munshi from A1 block who spreads awareness about water conservation.
- Ten children of Sudha Open School and ten children of resident kids who enlightened the audience on the importance of environment conservation through a Nukad Natak
The certificates of appreciation to these environment-concerned figures were handed by Chief Guest Lt. General ( Retd) Rakesh Sharma. In addition, three CBSE Gurgaon toppers with scores more than 98% were honoured by Sudha society on that day.
To encourage the use of eco-friendly products and provide a platform for the artistic talents from RUDSET Institute , Sudha Society exhibited the Institute’s products like jute products, earthen material, soft toys, and etc. at the event’s venue. The products received a heart-warming response from the residents.
The event was heralded by singing performances of Mrs. Kiran Sharma and Shri Chander Shekhar Sharma, an All India Radio Artist.
The event was graced by the honourable Guest of Honour, Maj. General S.K. Yadav President Sispal Vihar Gurgaon, Mrs. Payal Sharma w/o Lt. General (Retd.) Rakesh Sharma, Shri Janardhan K.N., National Director of RSETI (Rural Self Employment Training institute) Banglore from Ministry of Rural Development Govt. of India.

Yadav General Secretary RWA south city 2, Mrs. Pratibha Sharma social activist and yoga trainer, Ms. Deepti Choudhary Project Manager NRLM, ADC office Gurgaon, Sh. O P.
