International volunteer Day, 2019
Mahatma Gandhi once said, ‘The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others’ and keeping that Gandhian spirit in mind, volunteering is definitely the best way to find our way back to the realities and understand our roots and traditions of a collectivist society. Volunteering, which is a distinctly human characteristic, essentially calls for sharing and caring about fellow human beings irrespective of one’s class, nationality, religion, race, mother tongue and so on.
Keeping these things in mind ,sudha society celebrated international volunteer day on 5th December,2019 at A1 block ,South City -2 ,gurugram ,and honoured 18 volunteers at this event .
Mrs. Shashi Kiran Bhatnagar, member of sudha society welcomed the chief guest , Mrs Kanika Sharma who is Mrs. India first runners up, 2019 (north zone category) by presenting a plant .
Social workers -Mrs. Mamta Tyagi and Ms.Radhika Bajaj were the guest of honour for the event .
The ceremony was highly appreciated by all the people present there ,along with the volunteers ,who were given certificate of appreciation and momentoes such as plants and handicraft items .Sudha society open school kids also presented cultural programmes and made the event more joyful .
Mr.G.K. Bhatnagar conducted the program and also honoured mr. Ajay Kumar Goel and Mr. Jaiveer Singh .
At last all that matters is that we should contribute towards the upliftment of the community and the nation as a whole by helping such organisations who are selflessly working towards a better future of individuals and sudha society is also one among these organisations .
