As we are all aware International Yoga Day is celebrated on June 21, all over the world. Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in wellbeing. With this motive and to work towards adopting International Yoga Day, SUDHA Society celebrated it in Gurugram with the Association of Bharatiya Yog Sansathan.
The day started early around 5 in the morning, on this occasion, a session of Yogasanas for everybody, was conducted by Brigadier (retd) K.S. Dalal and Mrs. Shweta Kohli (from Bharatiya Yog Sansthan) and a brief talk on Yoga was also delivered by N Kriti Supare (yoga instructor).
Yoga is a way of life and it prevents illness, it is a scientific way of managing our lives, it is for peace, progress, prosperity, love and increase of happiness and spiritual quotient. A certain day for yoga was introduced to raise awareness worldwide about the importance and impact of yoga on the health of people.
President of SUDHA Society, Mr. GK Bhatnagar distributed certificates of participation to yoga participants in Sispal Vihar lawns the morning. Mrs. Urvashi Puri, General secretary and Sh. Ajay Kumar Goel, Executive Director SUDHA Society also attended the program besides large number of volunteers. Senior Citizens Sh. B.L. Singla (83 years) and Maj. Narender (90 years) were honoured by the society besides Brig. K.S. Dalal and Sh. Tomar both from Bhartiya Yog Sansthan.
T-Shirts were distributed among children by Mrs. Urvashi Puri, everyone enjoyed the session. There were about 55 participants from all age groups (7 to 90 years), who performed Yoga to spread its awareness.
