Sudha Society Foundation Celebrates International Day of Non Violence
Sudha Society Foundation Celebrates International Day of Non Violence on 2 October 2020,Under the able guidance of Mr.G.K.Bhatnagar, President Sudha Society, Dr.Kirti Bajpai, Psychologist Counselor and ED Women Empowerment Cell Sudha Society organized a webinar on International Day Of Non Violence.Wherein our Guest Speakers- Ms.Vasundhra Singh- Advocate in supreme court of Iindia, High court of Delhi and other Northern States and has expertise in matters related to Matrimonial, Family Law, Child Custody, Domestic Violence and Sexual Harrassment, Ms.Kiran Sharma- Chairperson of Domestic Violence Cell sudha society and Ms.Shweta Luthra- Member of SAASHA NGO in Bengaluru graced the occasion with their presence.
The webinar started by a Saraswati Vandana sung by Miss.Shrishti Das a grade seven student.
Lawyer Vasundhra apprised us about the Indian laws related with Domestic Violence and Sexual Harrassment at home,work place and in public. She informed us about women’s rights in parental and in laws property.She suggested women to be alert and have evidence of the same in form of pictures or recording if possible.Lawyer Vasundhra shared the helpline numbers of Domestic Violence against women (1092/181)and Child Helpline number ( 1098) in case of need.We were informed that women can get free lawyers if they are not working and have financial constraints.
Ms.Kiran Sharma, Chairperson of Domestic Violence Cell sudha society suggested women not to wait till the water starts overflowing but to take action when they observe any such Red flag in the beginning of a relationship. She advised women and girls to love and respect themselves and to be empowered.It was even suggested that meditation would help them to be more mindful.
Ms.Shweta Luthra, Member of SAASHA NGO in Bengaluru answered the questions related with Sexual Harassment asked by our viewers. She shared her NGO link through which help and support can be provided for free to women in such circumstances without evidence.
